FlexRide Milwaukee
Campaign
FlexRide Milwaukee is a new “last mile” transit service connecting workers in the City of Milwaukee to the front doors of employers in two area suburbs. It launched in February 2022 as a pilot. A month later, awareness was low. It needed more riders and participating businesses in order to survive in 2023 and beyond – and solve a long-standing connectivity problem confronting many residents and businesses in the area.
The Solution
As the lead designer for the Carl Collective team, I helped provide much-needed support through a mix of earned media and strong media coverage that captured the attention of local businesses, nonprofit leaders and key elected officials across the region and state. Building on this momentum, strategic social and PR efforts were deployed to further increase awareness and generate buzz around FlexRide, ultimately resulting in record-breaking weekly ridership and establishing credibility. With it came increased state funding to sustain FlexRide through 2024 and additional services — including expanded coverage areas, connections with child care centers, and 24-hour service Monday-Friday.
Social Media
For FlexRide Milwaukee, social media has been a significant way to announce service updates, expansions, and notices. Since joining the team in August 2022, I’ve worked one-on-one with our client contact, brainstormed content ideas, planned social content calendars, written captions, and created static and animated social media graphics- continuously looking for news ways to promote the service.

Print Materials
With FlexRide’s growth and expanding services, in collaboration with other Carl Collective team members, I was tasked with developing a wide variety of printed materials to inform riders, employers, and possible investors the updated services and benefits that FlexRide offers. These materials included event signage, newspaper ads, interior bus ads, and printed handouts, some of which were translated for a Spanish speaking audience.
